  Having lost my Varifocal Glasses on Friday evening, and without having any other glasses as backup. early the next morning I visited The Optical Gallery in Hook Road Chessington. Within a matter of minutes I was able to get an Eye Test which was then immediately followed by choosing Frames - I decided to have a pair of Varifocals to replace the one lost, and in addition a pair of Single Lens Reading Glasses and Single Lens as a backup, a luxury I have never previously had! I was given an incredibly reasonable timeframe for both the Varifocals and the Reading Glasses, but because I was unable to drive without glasses, I was promised that I would have the new pair on Tuesday, being just three days from the date of ordering - and today, Tuesday 26th, they arrived for collection as promised. Knowing that I had no other glasses at all, in order to help me through the extremely reasonable waiting time for the Reading Glasses, using the Frames I purchased on that day, they checked to see whether they had a lens which could be used as a temporary measure to help me through the waiting period. Within less than ten minutes the newly made temporary lens was fitted into the new frame, and I was able to take it away with me - had I not had that kindness and thoughtfulness shown, these past few days and those following would have been incredibly difficult. I cannot emphasise enough the outstanding and totally professional service that I received from the moment that I walked into the shop, throughout the whole process itself, and indeed since. I can honestly say that I have never experienced anywhere either in this Country or Overseas such unbelievable Customer Service and Care, associated with the highest levels of professionalism, knowledge, experience and service. It is with absolute pleasure that I unequivocally recommend The Optical Gallery Chessington as a beacon of an incredible shopping experience which all other shops etc should aspire to achieve. John
  I should have added too that the making of a temporary lens, fitting it and supplying it was all done with no cost to me whatsoever, and that highlights the ethos, principles and values of such a wonderful shop and ‘treasure’ within the community.
